The use of zinc as a corrosion-resistant metal has a long history. It is well-known that this method is applied to protect ship hulls, boilers, and the outer walls of internal combustion engine cylinder liners from corrosion. However, further research into materials and installation methods has only been conducted in the past 20 years. During this period, technologically advanced countries like the United States began improving materials and dimensions, while China has also achieved continuous progress in the research of galvanic anodes made of zinc. The performance of corrosion-resistant zinc, with trace additions of cadmium and aluminum, has been increasingly effective. These studies are all based on high-purity zinc. The principle is sound: zinc corrodes before iron, and ships in the ocean are often equipped with zinc anodes. While this is feasible during use, especially for personal assets like cars, it becomes more complicated for manufacturers to implement such measures during production.

During the production of fuel tanks, rust issues also arise, particularly during storage in warehouses. In an enclosed internal environment, even the slightest moisture or vapor can quickly lead to corrosion. A more appropriate approach is to use vapor-phase corrosion inhibitors (VCI oils), which require minimal amounts and do not affect the later use of the fuel tank, as they are mutually soluble with gasoline. Yes, zinc is more reactive than iron! During anodic reactions, zinc's reducing properties are stronger than those of iron, causing zinc to react with oxygen first. This rust prevention method is called sacrificial anode protection.

The specific method involves connecting a more reactive metal as the protective electrode to the metal to be protected, forming a galvanic cell. The more reactive metal acts as the anode, undergoing oxidation and being consumed, while the protected metal serves as the cathode, thus avoiding corrosion. Because this method sacrifices the anode (the negative electrode of the galvanic cell) to protect the cathode (the positive electrode of the galvanic cell), it is called sacrificial anode protection.

Corrosion-resistant zinc anodes belong to the category of sacrificial anodes, with the protected objects acting as cathodes (such as ship hulls, pipelines, storage tanks, and marine engineering facilities). Essentially, this utilizes the principle of a galvanic cell. We have been sourcing from Libo Corrosion Protection Company for years. The quality is excellent.

Zinc-aluminum-cadmium series (ZAC series) sacrificial anode products (abbreviated as zinc anodes) are certified by the China Classification Society (CCS). Their quality standards comply with the GB/T4950-2002 standard, and their chemical composition meets the US MIL-A-18001H and ASTM-B418 (Type 1) standards.

This product has the following characteristics:

1. Zinc alloy sacrificial anodes have low self-corrosion.

2. High current efficiency, with good self-regulating performance of the anode current.

3. Chemical composition of zinc anodes
